Recently, the Meteorological Bureau of Wanzai County, Yichun City, Jiangxi Province completed the construction of a lightning disaster monitoring and early warning system and officially put it into use, which can improve the level of lightning disaster monitoring, forecasting and early warning services.

 

This project is the first atmospheric electric field instrument construction project in Yichun. According to the detection range of the atmospheric electric field instrument and the actual needs of lightning protection, the meteorological department installed 4 sets of atmospheric electric field instruments in the county seat of Wanzai County, Xianyuan Township, Luocheng Town, and Huangmao Town and carried out network monitoring. The system can monitor changes in the atmospheric electric field all-round and all-weather, and automatically issue an alarm after a sudden change, providing technical support for effective defense and mitigation of lightning disasters.
